⚙️ Mainframe Moment: RSEA at AAMI Exchange 2025
📍 New Orleans, LA — I had the privilege of representing RSEA at this year’s AAMI Exchange, one of the most important gatherings for biomedical and clinical engineering professionals.
Why it matters:
The AAMI Exchange is where the future of healthcare technology is shaped — and RSEA is proud to be part of that evolution.
The event spotlighted innovations in HTM, medical device safety, and regulatory strategy.
RSEA (linaceng.org) is a collective of and for linear accelerator and cancer center engineers pushing for higher standards and more support in service and ultimately patient care.
Kudos to Jim Beaty for presenting at AAMI about the field of linear accelerator service - reach out if you want to learn more!
🔌 The energy: AAMI was high engagement, deep expertise, and a shared drive to engineer better outcomes.
🍣 Taste Transmission: New Orleans, Unplugged
New Orleans didn’t just deliver professionally — it delivered deliciously.
Café du Monde: Beignets and chicory coffee — I know the Food Network lists Cafe Beignet (https://www.cafebeignet.com) as on of the best places to eat ( https://www.foodnetwork.com/restaurants/photos/best-places-to-eat-new-orleans) but for my time, money, and tastebuds, Café du Monde (https://shop.cafedumonde.com) is a timeless combo that still hits.
Mulate’s: Cajun overload. So many bold, spicy dishes that I couldn’t try them all — but every bite was a flavor-packed win. https://mulates.com
Rock-n-Sake Bar & Sushi: The surprise MVP! Secret, local, apparently, “you only know if you know” type of place. Inventive sushi, a warm and welcoming crew, and the best Asian-fusion cocktails I’ve had — all thanks to Rianna, the bartender with serious mixology skills. https://rocknsake.com
🍸 The standout: Rianna’s custom cocktails were balanced, creative, and full of personality — just like her, and the city itself.
